MOUNTAINRock productionS
MountainRock Productions was founded to create thematically linked content enveloped around hope. Much of today’s content is focused on dark protagonists and down endings, showing that the world is a bleak place. But with MountainRock, even though there may be hard themes, the focus is on showing perseverance, and how through love and strength, people can overcome any obstacle. Movies and television are an escape, and MountainRock Productions is here to provide a newfound faith that shows viewers they can truly get through anything.
MountainRock Productions was founded in 2012 alongside its first official project, LA WEEKLY web series pick of the week [86’d]. Since then MountainRock has written and produced award-winning short films, narrative podcasts, comedy sketches, feature films, television spec scripts, and television pilots.
In addition to its own content, MountainRock has helped writers and filmmakers, providing production, rewriting, script coverage, and coaching services. We focus on delivering feedback that is actionable so that writers can take their work to the next level. Whether you’re in need of script-writing services, a Director for your dream story, or professional coverage to elevate your project, MountainRock Productions is here to help.
Charles w. miller
Writer, Director, Star Wars trivia expert (no EU)
Charles grew up in one of the smallest, most boring suburbs south of Boston you can imagine (not Southie). He first found his love of filmmaking thanks to a 10th grade independent study project where he made a short film about the last real life samurai, paying homage to (ie. shamelessly ripping off) The Last Samurai in the process.
Since then Charles’s work has expanded in exciting ways, with projects screening at prestigious film festivals, featured in LA WEEKLY, and winning and placing at prestigious competitions like the Page International Screenwriting Awards, Slamdance Screenplay Competition, Atlanta Film Festival, and Screencraft Screenwriting fellowship.
When he’s not working on his next award winning original, Charles enjoys helping other creatives, turning his passion into project-based directing, writing, and producing services. When he’s taking time off from the creative side of things, Charles sinks into his other passions, including gaming, perfecting his fried chicken recipe, and challenging others to Original Trilogy Star Wars Trivial Pursuit. If you’re looking for someone to polish your script and offer up a bonus helping of Mandalorian lore, look no further.
